PALM TIDE

26.7056° NPalm Beach apparel

Palm Beach apparel, made for the county it's named after.

Palm Tide is a coastal apparel brand from Palm Beach County, Florida. Everything here is made after you order it, in small numbers, for people who actually spend their time on this stretch of coast.

The whole collection is below, followed by what we mean when we say Palm Beach apparel — because the phrase has come to describe two fairly different things.

What Palm Beach apparel has come to mean

The phrase carries a lot of history. Lilly Pulitzer started printing shift dresses here in 1959, and the bright, patterned resort look she built became shorthand for the island for the next sixty years. Worth Avenue, laid out by Addison Mizner in the 1920s, gave that look somewhere to be worn.

That version of Palm Beach style is loud on purpose. It photographs well, it reads instantly, and it has been repeated by enough brands that it now functions as a costume — a way of signalling a place rather than living in it.

There is a second version, quieter and much less merchandised. It belongs to people who are on the water at six in the morning, who own one good pair of shorts, and who would not describe anything they wear as resort wear.

We make the second kind

No prints borrowed from a postcard. No palm-frond repeat. The colours come from sand, open water, and washed cotton, and the only graphic we use is our own wave mark.

That restraint is a deliberate position, not a limitation. A shirt that shouts about where it came from tends to get worn twice. One that does not gets worn until it falls apart.

  • Colour taken from the coast rather than from a print library
  • Product names drawn from real Palm Beach County geography — Jupiter Inlet, the Intracoastal, the sandbar
  • Technical fabric where it earns its place, like a UPF 50+ sun shirt for a full day out
  • A deliberately small catalogue rather than a wall of options

Made to order, in small numbers

Nothing here sits in a warehouse. Each piece is produced after you order it and reaches you in four to six weeks. That is slower than you are used to, and it is the trade we have chosen.

Guessing demand months ahead is what produces the discount cycle and the stock that never gets worn by anyone. We would rather make the thing you asked for than forecast what a season might want.

Common questions

Where is Palm Tide based?
Palm Beach County, Florida. We are online only — there is no shop to visit yet — and we ship within the United States.
What makes this different from other Palm Beach clothing brands?
Two things. Everything is made after you order it rather than produced in bulk on a forecast, and the design language is deliberately restrained — no tropical prints, no resort-wear costume.
Why does delivery take four to six weeks?
Because your order is produced after you place it. That window covers production and transit together, and it is stated on every product page, in the cart, and at checkout.
Is the clothing suitable for being on the water?
The sun hoodie is built for it specifically — a UPF 50+ knit with a hood and full-length sleeves for long days in open sun. The tees are cotton and better suited to everything after.
